This year, the Carnival of Souls trembles beneath the weight of an uninvited guest. From the shadows of the mortal world, Medusa has slithered her way into Hades’ realm, her serpents hissing in defiance as she dares to disrupt his revelry. Lanterns flicker uneasily as her presence turns laughter sharp and uneasy; souls whisper of shattered statues hidden among the tents, frozen mid-dance by her venomous gaze. Hades, unamused by her intrusion, has risen from his throne to remind her who rules the dead. Their clash is whispered to shake the very bones of the carnival itself — and those who attend may find themselves caught between godly wrath and gorgon spite.
This year we have two shops available, as well as two event currencies. Teeth may be used to purchase from Hades' Obsidian Vault, and Scales may be used to purchase from Medusa's Serpent Menagerie.

Draw or write about your Nemeion completing any of the following prompts below.
General Guidelines
🍁 You must own a Nemeion or lease one of the Caesar's Nemeion to participate.
🍁Collaboration and commissioning pieces is allowed!
🍁 You may repeat all of the prompts as many times as you would like. Additionally, there is no daily cap. You may submit entries freely throughout the entire event.
🍁 We are not accepting diptych entries. All entries must be singular images or pieces of literature.
🍁 Up to two (2) Nemeion may be rolled in each entry, or three (3) if one Nemeion has the Festivous Trait.

It can optionally have shading. 🍁 Collaborated Activities can only have as many collaborators as Nemeion can participate. ─ Each collaborator’s part must be clearly marked in the deviation description. ─ Each collaborator should contribute roughly equally in the piece. |

🍁 Holiday Prompts are considered a Simple Activity. 🍁 Simple Literature requires a minimum of 900 words. 🍁Collaborated Activities can only have as many collaborators as Nemeion can participate. ─ Collaborated entries must have an additional 450 words per collaborator. ─ Each collaborator’s part must be clearly marked in the piece. ─ Each collaborator should contribute roughly equally in the piece. 🍁 Multi-part stories are acceptable, however, each part must have a clear beginning and end |
Prompt #1 - Masquerade of the Damned
Step beyond the veil and into the Masquerade of the Damned! Don disguises spun from nightmare and shadow and temp fate with each elaborate creation. Is it simply a costume, or the ghost of what you once were? Draw or write about your Nemeion participating in a Masquerade Ball held by the God Hades. Your Nemeion should be in some form of costume.
Prompt #2 - Dissent into Darkness
A Nemeion has been possessed by an evil spirit of Hades and driven to madness! They have become vicious beyond reason; smoke curls from their nostrils, their eyes burn with hellfire, and they are attacking everyone and everything in sight. Many have tried to stop them, but all have been unsuccessful in their attempts. Can you free the crazed Nemeion from their spirit captor, or do you also fall prey to their blood soaked claws?
Prompt #3 - Colossal Chaos
Medusa has let loose a newly un-petrified mythical menagerie into Nemeia! The mightiest of her formerly frozen monsters are leaving a wake of destruction across the land and no one has been courageous enough to face the horrific army. The Caesar has grown desperate and is pleading for aid! Can you fend off this massive army of chaos, or are you doomed to fall to its fangs? (You may battle the following: Chimera, Hydra, Griffin, Hippogriff, Serpopard, Sphynx, Harpy, Minotaur, Orthus)
Prompt #4 - The Garden of Stone
Rumors have spread that Medusa has planted a “garden” deep in the city—a twisted display where her victims stand frozen in eternal poses, draped with carnival silks and lanterns. The gorgon invites the bold to walk among her statues and leave their mark. Does your Nemeion wander curiously among the statues, attempt to free one, or risk gazing too long at Medusa's serpents? Perhaps they add their own offering to her display—a mask, a flower, or even a rival turned to stone.
Prompt #5 - Horrors and Hysteria
While battling Hades' monsters, you have found yourself suddenly dragged down into the depths of the Underworld! Your true fears have been made real within this dark, harrowing place! What is it you fear most? Do you conquer your fear in hopes of escaping the horrors of this dreadful realm, or do you find yourself tormented by nightmares for all eternity?

───── Bone Lottery ─────
The Bone Lottery lures the daring with the promise of prizes buried deep within death’s rattle. Each bone clutched in your hands carries the chill of the Styx, a fragment of some forgotten soul. Gather enough pieces and you may stitch together a skeleton, though whether it rises as a loyal guardian, a restless shade, or simply a grim token of Hades’ amusement is never certain. The bones do not lie quiet, nor do they ever leave you without leaving their mark.
───── How To Participate ─────── Players may submit bones to earn tickets towards a special raffle. During the event's completion, this raffle will be rolled, and one (1) lucky winner will receive a lost Pharaoh Feral, F16 Cleopatra! Her design will be revealed later in the event as bones come in.
── One bone is equal to one lottery ticket. Players may submit bones of any kind, including skulls, jawbones, fish bones, and bone shards. (The Shank Bone Treat is not a valid bone). Bundle of Bones is equal to 3 tickets. ── You may enter this event as many times as you wish. There are no daily limits. |
