Ranks are Nemeion's hierarchy system, or "leveling" system, which give your Nemeion additional perks. Nemeion has a list of requirements for each rank that must be met before a cat can change levels. Once these requirements have been met, players must complete two prompts listed beneath each rank before submitting it for judging.

Named after a class of infantry in the Roman Army, Velites is the first rank of Nemeion's ranking system. This rank is one of the easiest positions to achieve, and acts as a warm-up for future ranks. All lions must complete every requirement listed below before they may become a Velites. |

All of the following requirements must be met before the rank of Hastati can be achieved.

1) Your lion must complete their Training (See Training Page for more information)
2) Your lion must earn at least +75 EXP
3) Your lion must participate in at least five (5) activities. These activities can be Colosseum Battles, Adventures, or Conquests. You may mix and match, as long as your Nemeion completes at least five (5) activities total. (example: completing 2 conquests, 1 colosseum battle, and 2 fishing adventures would count)

─ Prompt One: Depict your Nemeion spending a week with one of the Caesar's Lions. How does the experience go? Does your Nemeion succeed in learning from the formidable lion, or do they return home scarred and shaken by the experience?
─ Prompt Two: Depict your Nemeion with or without a handler helping evacuate a village after a volcano has erupted and is threatening to take out the entire town.
─ Prompt Three: Depict your Nemeion defending against a siege on the city of Athens. Are they able to protect the Caesar?
─ Prompt Four: Depict your Nemeion facing their greatest fear. Can they overcome it?
─ Prompt Five: Depict your Nemeion babysitting a younger Nemeion or cub. Can they handle such an energetic, rambunctious ball of fur? Or are they left exhausted?
To Become ─ Rank 2: Hastati

Hastati is the second rank in Nemeion's ranking system, and is named after a class of infantry in the Roman army who specialized in spears and swords. This rank, while a little bit more challenging to achieve than the first rank, offers a few new perks to help a Nemeion throughout the group. All lions must complete every requirement listed below, as well as already have achieved the Velites rank, before they may become a Hastati. |

All of the following requirements must be met before the rank of Hastati can be achieved.
Requirements cannot be re-used for multiple rank updates. As your Nemeion ranks up, every rank requires you to complete NEW pieces. Old content that was made BEFORE your Nemeion reached their current rank no longer counts. This excludes EXP. All EXP counts regardless of rank.
1) Your lion must be rank 1, having already achieved the Velites rank
2) Your lion must earn an additional +150 EXP (on top of the 75 they already accumulated, for a total of 225 EXP)
3) Your lion must participate in at least ten (10) activities. These activities can be Colosseum Battles, Adventures, or Conquests. You may mix and match, as long as your Nemeion completes at least ten (10) activities total. (example: completing 3 conquests, 1 colosseum battle, and 6 expedition adventures would count)
4) Complete any two of the prompts listed below

─ Prompt One: Depict your Nemeion overcoming an injury. Do they find relief in being forced to relax, or do they get irritable and restless?
─ Prompt Two: Depict your Nemeion being guided by a mentor or guardian figure. This can either be their handler, parents, or someone who has played a significant role in their life. What can they learn from their mentor?
─ Prompt Three: Depict your Nemeion rescuing a friend or family member from danger.
─ Prompt Four: Depict your Nemeion assisting an elder, be it a human or another Nemeion. Are they happy to aid them, or do they get frustrated?
─ Prompt Five: Depict your Nemeion meeting someone of importance. Do they meet a famous Colosseum Champion? Perhaps the Caesar himself? How do they react?
To Become ─ Rank 3: Legatus

Legatus is the third rank in Nemeion's ranking system, and is named after high-ranking Roman military officers. This rank, like its name origin, requires a lot more work to achieve than its predecessors. All lions must complete every requirement listed below, as well as already have achieved the Velites and Hastati rank, before they may become a Legatus. |

All of the following requirements must be met before the rank of Legatus can be achieved.
Requirements cannot be re-used for multiple rank updates. As your Nemeion ranks up, every rank requires you to complete NEW pieces. Old content that was made BEFORE your Nemeion reached their current rank no longer counts. This excludes EXP. All EXP counts regardless of rank.
1) Your lion must be rank 2, having already achieved the Hastati rank
2) Your lion must earn an additional +150 EXP (on top of the 225 they have already accumulated, for a total of 405 EXP)
3) Your lion must participate in at least ten (10) difficult activities. These activities include Crusades, Caving, Champion Battles, and Events. You may mix and match, as long as your Nemeion completes at least ten (10) activities total. (example: completing 3 Champion Battles, 3 Event entries, 2 Cavings, and 2 Crusades would count)
4) Complete any two of the prompts listed below

─ Prompt One: Depict your Nemeion helping someone who is suffering and is near death. Do they sit by their side and give them company until they die, or do they show them mercy by ending their suffering for them?
─ Prompt Two: Depict your Nemeion facing a dangerous threat and how they overcome the challenge. Are they facing a large, rabid bear? Perhaps a Feral Nemeion?
─ Prompt Three: Depict your Nemeion escaping poachers, wranglers, or bandits or some form of natural obstacle like a cave-in or landslide
─ Prompt Four: Depict your Nemeion stepping in between two warring factions. Do they manage to stop the fighting?
─ Prompt Five: Depict your Nemeion with or without a handler paying homage to the Caesar or his wife Anthea.
To Become ─ Rank 4: Consul

Consul is the fourth rank in Nemeion's ranking system, and is named after a title that was given to one of the chief Magistrates of the Roman Empire. This rank requires lots of dedication in order to be achieved. All lions must complete every requirement listed below, as well as already have achieved the Velites, Hastati and Legatus ranks, before they may become a Consul. |

All of the following requirements must be met before the rank of Legatus can be achieved.
Requirements cannot be re-used for multiple rank updates. As your Nemeion ranks up, every rank requires you to complete NEW pieces. Old content that was made BEFORE your Nemeion reached their current rank no longer counts. This excludes EXP. All EXP counts regardless of rank.
1) Your lion must be rank 3, having already achieved the Legatus rank
2) Your lion must earn an additional +195 EXP (on top of the 405 they have already accumulated, for a total of 600 EXP)
3) Your lion must participate in at least fifteen (15) activities, and they must be successful. These activities include Colosseum Battles, Conquests, Crusades, Caving, Champion Battles, and Events. You may mix and match, as long as your Nemeion completes at least fifteen (15) activities total.

Praefect is the fifth and final rank in Nemeion's ranking system. Named after the Roman Magistrate, this rank is the most prestigious and difficult level to achieve. All lions must complete every requirement listed below, as well as already have achieved all prior ranks, before they may become a Praefect. |

1) Your lion must be rank 4, having already achieved the Consul rank
2) Your lion must earn an additional +400 EXP (on top of the 600 they have already accumulated, for a total of 1,000 EXP)
3) Your lion must have a cub that is at least rank 3
3) Your lion must have completed at least 5 Feats.
