 ───── Mutations  ─────

Picture
On rare occasions during breeding, cubs may be born with unusual genetic mutations that set them apart from the rest of their litter. These mutations most often manifest in distinctive coat variations, producing colors, patterns, or markings that are seldom seen within the species. Less commonly, a mutation may influence certain physical traits of a Nemeion, such as subtle changes to tails, eyes, or other defining features. While these differences are uncommon, they are considered natural anomalies rather than defects, and many are viewed with fascination or reverence, as they mark the cub as something truly exceptional.
Rules & Guidelines
── Mutations are hereditary, and have a chance of showing up in any breeding
── Mutations can not be carried but some can be overwritten, such as Albino can sit over or under any other Color Modifying Mutation, or Double Tusks can show and force Smildon Sabers to be carried.
── A single Nemeion can only have a total of three (3) physical mutations at once.
── A single Nemeion can only have a total of three (3) base/color altering mutations at once.

Somewhere far back in the lineage of the modern Nemeion, something went awry. A small cub with two tails grew to spread their genes and gift their descendants the same strange mutation. Polycaudal originated at the heart of Nemeia and spread outwards from Athens, herself. The most prominent specimen, Hydra 3, can be found sprawled in the very palace where his ancestors delivered the very first of his twin-tailed kind.

It was told in the far east that a dragon once fell captivated by a Nemeion, gliding down to earth and wooing the strange beast until he claimed her heart. From their union emerged four scaled, wriggling cubs with the fighting heart of their mother and the rending talons of their father. As they multiplied, the dragon blood faded from their veins and their scales fell away, but the vicious talons remained, curving like deadly scythes and promising a deadly blow to any who opposed them. Those in the east revere these Nemeion and have selectively bred them for their claws, though the awkward shape has eventually warped them and forced them into a splayed, almost serpentine walk, all the more convincing those who prize them of their dragon ancestry.

Smilodon and Double Smilodon Sabers were discovered during an expedition to visit Nemeia’s far northern allies. On arrival, the Germani tribes presented the ruling family with gifts beyond their wildest dreams, but the most notable? A pride of Nemeion with fangs never seen before, and jaws that could pry apart nearly double the distance of their southern cousins. To display their deadly prowess, the Germani leaders set them upon a herd of Mammoth that were felled with such efficiency that a breeding program was developed the very same night as part of peace negotiations.

Double Tusks

Double Tusk Info here

Originally identified as an inherited trait from the great war Nemeion Valorios the Drenched, infamous for bathing in the blood of the defeated, this strange mutation makes a Nemeion who inherits it twice as deadly. Like their forefather, Nemeion with this mutation are rumored to have an otherworldly strength of bite, capable of crushing through the thickest armor and rending flesh from bone with ease. While not necessarily true in reality, any who enter the colosseum with such a mutation certainly pose a significant threat to their opponent.
