Modifiers
Modifiers are special hereditary markings that change the color of other markings to a color from special swatch. At minimum, at least two markings must use a modifier's swatch (the base also counts as one marking).
Guidelines
► Edge: All markings altered by a modifier should adhere to their edge rules.
► Color: All markings altered by a modifier should use the available modifier swatches. HOWEVER: If a base coat is altered by a modifier, all marking colors may deviate slightly from the available swatches and may be lighter or darker than the base coat. This exception is only possible when the base coat is altered by a modifier.
► Range: Modifiers must alter at least two markings (the base coat counts towards one of those two markings). In the event that no other markings are present, the base coat must use a modifier swatch.
► Marking Interaction: All markings, when affected by the modifier gene, may utilize modifier swatches regardless of their ruleset. (As an example: Niveus, which is usually supposed to be white in color, is no longer restricted to white when a modifier is present. Niveus may use a color from the modifier swatch.) This applies to every marking in game.

Here you can view a few different design options when utilizing the Glacies modifier. At the top, we have an Almond Tan design that uses Bellytone, Trim, and Quill. At minimum, at least two markings (the base coat also counts towards one of these markings) must use one of the six Glacies swatch colors to pass. The design on the bottom right is using the Glacies swatches for every marking, as well as the base coat, which is perfectly acceptable!
