───── Colosseum Guide ─────

Picture
Welcome to the Colosseum!

Many years ago, a previous Caesar decided in Nemeia’s time of peace that their once ferocious battle companions needed something to do to fulfill their instinctual needs. Thus, the Colosseum was created! Now Nemeion from all over Nemeia come to battle in spectacle fights as a test of their tactics and strength.

Winners and losers alike will walk away with coins to add to their pockets, but only the winners will receive true loot rewards! This can even include Medals of Honor, or perhaps a token of the Caesar’s Favor.

Munera is a simple activity open to all ranks!

───── Munera ─────

Munera is a structured PvE (player vs. environment) combat system within Nemeion designed to let players actively test their Nemeion’s strength, tactics, and growth against non-player opponents. Through Munera, you will face an NPC challenger of your own invention, or from another ARPG species (depending on whether or not that species allows their characters to be drawn in combat), and pit your Nemeion against them in a controlled battle scenario.

General Guidelines

── Munera entries can be collaborated or commissioned.
── Collaborated entries must follow the specifications on the Art & Literature Guide.

── Only two (2) Nemeion may be rolled per entry.
── Additional Nemeion may be rolled depending on armor, consumable or companion usage.

── Trackers are required for this activity, and should have links to the appropriate activity sections hyperlinked.
── If links are not provided, admins are allowed to deny your entry.

── All armor sets count for Munera.
── Only one (1) armor set may be used at a time unless otherwise stated.

── Please refer to the description of consumables, companions, equipment and traits for if they apply to Munera or Colosseum.

Artwork Guidelines

── For examples regarding these rules, please refer back to the Art & Literature Guide.

── Artwork must be: Full Body (at least 75%) with color/tone and a simple background.
── Artwork must be a minimum canvas size of 500 x 500 px.

── Backgrounds must be depicted inside the colosseum and include at least 3 unique elements.
── Opponents do not count as background elements.

── All Nemeion depicted who are receiving rewards in artwork must be at least 75% visible.
── All opponents must be at least 50% visible.

── Every Nemeion should have their own unique opponent unless otherwise stated.
── Opponents must be: a non-handler human/humanoid, an NPC Nemeion, or a creature of equal or larger size (can be another ARPG creature.)
── Opponents cannot be: amorphous or mechanical

Literature Guidelines

── For examples regarding these rules, please refer back to the Art & Literature Guide.

── Literature entries must be a minimum of 900 words.
── Literature must clearly define the location in some way as being inside the colosseum.

── Examples: Describing the walled-in sandy arena, being released from a holding cage into the arena, etc.

── Literature should not be primarily dialogue, at maximum around 30% of the literature should be dialogue.

── Literature must primarily be focused on the fight itself, a minimum of around 50% of the literature should be during the battle.
── Opponents should be clearly described / mentioned at least 3 times per opponent.

── Every Nemeion should have their own unique opponent unless otherwise stated.
── Opponents must be: a non-handler human/humanoid, an NPC Nemeion, or a creature of equal or larger size (can be an ARPG).
── Opponents cannot be: amorphous or mechanical.
PvP is a simple activity open to all ranks!
At least one Nemeion must have a Lycan Companion equipped.

───── Player versus Player (PvP) ─────

Player versus Player is Nemeion’s structured PvP combat system, centered on direct encounters between players where strategy, adaptability, and combat mastery are pushed to their limits. Participation is restricted--at least one of the Nemeion involved must possess a lycan companion, marking these battles as a higher-tier form of combat. Player versus Player features a separate, PvP-exclusive loot table, offering rewards distinct from PvE combat and reinforcing the heightened risk and prestige of victory. Each match serves as a proving ground for rivalry, reputation, and dominance within Nemeion.

How Does PvP Work?

Player versus Player works a little differently than Munera or Champion Battles. Because it is a player-versus-player scenario, bonuses and traits are calculated differently. Not all tack is applicable in PvP to keep things somewhat fair between combatants.

───── Player versus Player Breakdown ─────

All PvP battles start at a base 50/50. Each player has an equal, fifty-fifty chance of beating the other.
When we start adding bonuses into the mix, our split changes.

Bonuses

The following bonuses add to your win chance. Each percent is equal to 1 point in your success rate. Keep in mind that Armor Tiers do not stack. The bonus changes based on your Armor Tier level.
Armor Tier 1: 2% Bonus
Armor Tier 2: 3% Bonus
Armor Tier 3: 4% Bonus
Armor Tier 4: 5% Bonus
Training: 5% Bonus

Example

─ The baseline starts at 50/50 without any bonuses.
─  If I were to add Training as a bonus, I would gain a +5 advantage over my opponent.
─ The split then becomes 55/45, with 55 being my chance number.
─ If my partner also has Training, the split returns to 50/50.

General Guidelines

── PvP entries can be collaborated with your opponent or commissioned.
── Collaborated entries must follow the specifications on the Art & Literature Guide.

── PvP entries are 1 vs 1, no additional Nemeion are allowed

── Trackers are required for this activity, and should have links to the appropriate activity sections hyperlinked.
── If links are not provided, admins are allowed to deny your entry.

── Please refer to the description of armor, consumables, companions, equipment and traits for if they apply to PvP or Colosseum.

Champion Battles are a Complex Activity open to Rank 2 (Hastati) or higher.

───── Champion Battles (PvE) ─────

Champion Battles are where your Nemeion go once they have reached the rank of Hastati! Rather than fighting nameless nobodies, your Nemeion has now been deemed capable of going toe-to-toe with one of the Caesar’s own prized, battle-hardened Nemeion!

Losers will receive compensation in the form of a modest amount of coins. Winners, however, will receive a great deal of coins as well as other loot, Medals of Honor, and a chance at winning the Caesar’s Favor!

───── How do Champion Battles Work? ─────

Champion Battles are rolled with a 35/65 split in favor of the Champion. Each Nemeion has a 35% chance at defeating the Champion without any bonuses.

Iron Will: If this trait procs it will re-roll any failed attempt, giving you a second chance at defeating the Champion.

Example

─ The baseline starts at 35/65 without any bonuses, in favor of the Champion.
─  If I were to add Training as a bonus, I would gain a +5 to my bonus.
─ The split then becomes 40/60, with 40 being my chance number.
─ If I include both Tier 4 Armor and Training, the split becomes 45/55, making me more likely to defeat the Champion.

───── Favors ─────

The Caesar’s Favors are rare and highly coveted rewards earned through exceptional performance in the Nemeion colosseum. These Favors are often in the form of limited breeding slots or other rare items, bestowed only upon players who prove their Nemeion’s worth through prestigious combat activities and notable victories.

───── The Caesar's Favor ─────

In Munera, players have the opportunity to earn the Caesar's favor after successful battles, with a 10% chance after each win. These Favors come in the form of breeding slots to the Caesar’s prized cats, blending progression, legacy-building, and honor into a single, meaningful prize.

Just like in normal Munera battles, Champion battles have a chance to roll a range of rewards, including the Champion's Favor in the form of a breeding slot to the defeated champion.
