───── Colosseum Guide ─────

Picture
Perhaps the most long-standing tradition in regards to Nemeion entertainment is the raising and battling of formidable creatures in exchange for a purse, or sometimes other rewards. The group offers various different matches, please read them in detail below to understand what they do. These matches are never to-the-death, though severe injuries can be acquired. Combat matches are instead used as a means of showcasing the strength of one's animal, entertaining the rich and poor patrons of the colosseum, and earning a hefty reward.

Munera and Parvum are simple activities.

───── Munera Proelium & Parvum Proelium ─────

Munera Prolium and Parvum Proelium are structured PvE (player vs. environment) combat systems within Nemeion designed to let players actively test their Nemeion’s strength, tactics, and growth against non-player opponents. Through Munera, you choose an NPC challenger of your own invention, or from another ARPG species (depending on whether or not that species allows their characters to be drawn in combat) and pit your Nemeion against them in a controlled battle scenario.

Munera vs. Parvum, What is the Difference?

Muneras
are specifically designed for the heavyweight class, which we call the "Apex" Class. The Apex Class includes Brutes, Regals, and Pharaohs.

Parvums are specifically designed for the featherweight class, which we call the "Zephyr" Class. The Zephyr class includes Dwarves, Domestics, and Pharaohs.

The Apex Class and the Zephyr Class cannot compete against each other unless they have a specific trait. The only one excluded by this rule is the Pharaoh, who can compete in both Munera and Parvum respectfully.

───── Classes ─────

The Apex Class
The Apex Class represents the pinnacle of heavyweight combat builds within Nemeion, encompassing Brutes, Regals, and Pharaohs—Nemeion designed to dominate through sheer presence, power, and resilience. Apex-class fighters thrive in direct confrontation, favoring overwhelming force, crushing blows, and the ability to endure punishment that would cripple lighter builds. Their bodies are built for impact and control, allowing them to dictate the flow of battle through raw strength, battlefield pressure, and unyielding stamina.

The Zephyr Class
The Zephyr Class embodies the featherweight end of Nemeion combat, prioritizing agility, precision, and adaptability over raw power. This class includes Dwarves, Domestics, and Pharaohs that favor speed-based builds, clever maneuvering, and tactical awareness to survive and succeed in battle. Zephyr Nemeion excel at exploiting openings, darting in and out of range, and turning the battlefield into a game of positioning rather than brute force. Their lighter frames allow for swift reactions, evasive movement, and creative use of the environment, often outplaying heavier opponents through endurance, finesse, or attrition rather than direct confrontation.

General Guidelines

── All entries must be depicted inside a Colosseum.

── Munera and Parvum entries can be collaborated or commissioned.

── Only two (2) Nemeion may be rolled per entry. A total of three (3) Nemeion may be rolled if one of the Nemeion has the Victor's Shield Armor.

── Every Nemeion should have their own, unique opponent unless otherwise stated. Opponents must be another Nemeion, a large ARPG creature, or something capable of taking on a beast of their size such as Chimeras, Bears, Elephants, etc.

── Trackers are required for this activity. Trackers should have links to the appropriate activity sections hyperlinked in the journal. If links are not provided, admins are allowed to deny your entry.

── While all armor sets count for Munera and Parvum, only "all activity" or colosseum-specific traits, companions or equipment count towards Munera and Parvum entries.

── Only one (1) armor set may be used at a time unless otherwise stated.

── All armor, traits, companions or equipment that qualify for Munera, qualify for Parvum.

Artwork Guidelines

── Artwork must be full body, colored or greyscale, with a simple background. They must be a minimum of 500 x 500 px.

── All Nemeion depicted who are receiving rewards in artwork must be at least 75% visible. All opponents must be at least 50% visible.

── Backgrounds must include 2 - 3 unique elements, shading is optional. Elements include things such as rocks, torches, sconces, banners, skeletons, discarded armor and more. (Keep in mind opponents do NOT count as elements, however living creatures such spectators and NPC fighters in the background can count as elements as long as they follow the elements guidelines.)

── Small elements such as bones or rocks require a minimum of 3 similar sized elements to count. All elements require some level of definition or detail in order to count as elements.

Literature Guidelines

── Literature entries must be a minimum of 900 words; Collaborated literature entries must be 1400 words.

── Literature should be fluid and not completely comprised of nothing but dialogue.

── Additional "parts" (part 1, part 2, etc) entries are okay, provided each part of the story has a clear beginning and end.
Vindictam Proelium is a simple activity.

───── Vindictam Proelium (PvP) ─────

Vindictam Proelium is Nemeion’s structured PvP combat system, centered on direct player-versus-player encounters where strategy, adaptability, and combat mastery are pushed to their limits. Participation is restricted--at least one of the Nemeion involved must possess a lycan companion, marking these battles as a higher-tier form of combat. Vindictam Proelium features a separate, PvP-exclusive loot table, offering rewards distinct from PvE combat and reinforcing the heightened risk and prestige of victory. Each match serves as a proving ground for rivalry, reputation, and dominance within Nemeion.

How Does PvP Work?

Vindictam Proelium works a little differently than Munera or Protathlitís. Because it is a player-versus-player scenario, bonuses and traits are calculated differently. Not all tack is applicable in PvP to keep things somewhat fair between combatants.

───── Vindictam Proelium Breakdown ─────

All PvP battles start at a base 50/50. Each player has an equal, fifty-fifty chance of beating the other.
When we start adding bonuses into the mix, our split changes.

Bonuses

The following bonuses add to your win chance. Each percent is equal to 1 point in your success rate. Keep in mind that Armor Tiers do not stack. The bonus changes based on your Armor Tier level.
Armor Tier 1: 2% Bonus
Armor Tier 2: 3% Bonus
Armor Tier 3: 4% Bonus
Armor Tier 4: 5% Bonus
Training: 5% Bonus

Example

─ The baseline starts at 50/50 without any bonuses.
─  If I were to add Training as a bonus, I would gain a +5 advantage over my opponent.
─ The split then becomes 55/45, with 55 being my chance number.
─ If my partner also has Training, the split returns to 50/50.

General Guidelines

── At least one of the Nemeion involved must possess a lycan companion to unlock PvP

──
All entries must be depicted inside a Colosseum.

── You may collaborate your entry with your partner or have one commissioned. Only one entry is needed and only one player needs to post the entry.

── Vindictam entries are 1 vs 1, no additional Nemeion are allowed. Only the Nemeion in question may be depicted in the entry.

── Only Armor, Training, and PvP related Traits/Equipment/Companions may be used in PvP. Anything that applies to Munera or Champion battles cannot be used in Vindictam Proelium.

── Trackers are required for this activity. Trackers should have links to the appropriate activity sections hyperlinked in the journal. If links are not provided, admins are allowed to deny your entry.

Protathlitís is a complex activity, and requires your Nemeion to be Rank 2+ to participate.

───── Protathlitís (PvE) ─────

Protathlitís, also know as Champion Battles, is one of Nemeion’s most demanding and prestigious combat challenges, reserved for those willing to test themselves against the very best of the colosseum. Each month, player Nemeion are given the opportunity to face one of the Caesar’s Champion cats—elite opponents renowned for their overwhelming power, refined tactics, and brutal efficiency. These battles are intentionally unforgiving, pushing Nemeion to their absolute limits and rewarding preparation, mastery, and clever play rather than brute luck. Those who emerge victorious earn highly valuable loot, Medals of Honor, loads of coins, and occasionally a Champion’s Favor, which is a coveted, exclusive breeding slot to the Champion in question.

───── How does Protathlitis Work? ─────

Much like Vindictam Proelium, Champion Battles are rolled with a 35/65 split in favor of the Champion. Each Nemeion has a 35% chance at defeating the Champion without any bonuses.
When we start adding bonuses into the mix, our split changes.

Armor Tier 1: 2% Bonus
Armor Tier 2: 3% Bonus
Armor Tier 3: 4% Bonus
Armor Tier 4: 5% Bonus

Iron Will: If this trait procs it will re-roll any failed attempt, giving you a second chance at defeating the Champion.

Example

─ The baseline starts at 35/65 without any bonuses, in favor of the Champion.
─  If I were to add Training as a bonus, I would gain a +5 to my bonus.
─ The split then becomes 40/60, with 40 being my chance number.
─ If I include both Tier 4 Armor and Training, the split becomes 45/55, making me more likely to defeat the Champion.

General Guidelines

── Protathlitís entries cannot be collaborated. They may be commissioned.

── Only one (1) Nemeion and one (1) Champion is allowed to be depicted in each Protathlitís unless otherwise stated.

── Participating Nemeion must be Rank 2 or higher.

── Nemion can only fight the currently listed monthly champion unless otherwise stated.

── All entries must be depicted inside a Colosseum.

── Trackers are required for this activity. Trackers should have links to the appropriate activity sections hyperlinked in the journal. If links are not provided, admins are allowed to deny your entry.

── Each Nemeion can only face the Monthly Champion in Protathlitís two (2) times unless otherwise specified. Companions like Bruno can increase this number. This limit applies only to the Nemeion, not the player.

── Not all armor or colosseum traits, companions and equipment count towards Protathlitís battles. Armor sets such as The Victors Shield and its bonuses do not qualify for Protathlitís battles.

── Additional "parts" (part 1, part 2, etc) entries are not allowed in this activity. Entries must have a clear beginning, middle, and end.

───── Favors ─────

The Caesar’s Favors are rare and highly coveted rewards earned through exceptional performance in the Nemeion colosseum. These Favors are often in the form of limited breeding slots or other rare items, bestowed only upon players who prove their Nemeion’s worth through prestigious combat activities and notable victories.

───── The Caesar's Favor ─────

In Munera and Parvum, players have the opportunity to earn favors from the Caesar during successful battles, which are special rewards that any Nemeion can earn. These Favors come in the form of breeding slots to the Caesar’s prized cats, mysterious lost cubs, and even breeding items. While not as rare as the highest-tier Favors, they remain highly desirable rewards, blending progression, legacy-building, and honor into a single, meaningful prize.

───── The Champion's Favor ─────

Just like in normal Munera and Parvum battles, Protathlitís battles have a chance to roll a Champion’s Favor. These favors are usually exclusive breeding slots or special rewards that can only be found from defeating the Champion in question. All champions have a chance to drop Medals of Honor and coins, as well as loot from the applicable tables below:
