Once a Nemeion has been trained, each Nemeion unlocks the ability to breed and have cubs. Having cubs is a great way to add new Nemeion to your pride, and also offers the potential for rare mutations. Certain markings are only available through breeding, which you can view below.

───── Rules & Guidelines ─────

Art by TheVerdantHare

── Players may only submit a maximum of three (3) normal breedings per month, and a maximum of three (3) Starter breedings per month, for a total of six (6) allowed breedings.

── A Nemeion must complete their training before they are able to breed

── Nemeion start with (5) slots total. Nemeion can gain more slots by rising through the ranking system, eventually unlocking infinite slots upon reaching rank 5 (all slots used prior to 10/1/2020 do not count against this change)
── Inbreeding is not allowed. Lions who share one or more relatives on their import lineage record are considered related and any attempts at breeding them will be denied. The Caesar only wants clean bloodlines.

── Overselling any slots or promising slots to a Nemeion that has not been uploaded is against the rules

Breeds / Builds

There are currently five different breeds available in Nemeion: Brute, Regal, Dwarf, Domestic, and Pharaoh. Brute is the original Nemeion, Regal is a subspecies that has been bred and domesticated for hunting, dwarf is a mutation that has recently been discovered from breeding Brutes and Regals together, Domestics were bred to guard homes, and Pharaohs were bred for racing. Brute Nemeion were bred specifically to fight in the colosseum, whereas Regal Nemeion are bred for showing and competitions. The dwarf is a wonderful combination of both subspecies.

───── Restrictions ─────

── Brutes may breed with: Brutes, Regals, and Dwarves. They cannot breed with Domestics.
── Regals may breed with: Brutes, Regals, Dwarves, Domestics.
── Dwarves may breed with: Brutes, Regals, Dwarves, Domestics.
── Domestics may breed with: Regals, Dwarves, and Domestics. They cannot breed with Brutes.

───── Odds ─────

Litter sizes vary in Nemeion, no matter the parents. Below is a breakdown explaining these odds.

── There is a 100% chance for one cub to be born,
── There is a 35% chance for two cubs to be born.
── There is a 5% chance for three cubs to be born.

Sexes vary in Nemeion, no matter the parents. Females are more common than males.

── 60% of cubs will be born female, while 40% will be male.

There are three different base coat colors: Tan, Agouti, and Cream. Tan and Agouti cats are more common than Cream cats.

 ── Tan x Tan = 100% Tan
 ── Tan x Agouti = 75% Tan, 25% Agouti
 ── Tan x Cream = 95% Tan, 5% Cream
── Agouti x Cream = 80% Agouti, 20% Cream
── Agouti x Agouti = 100% Agouti

── Cream x Cream = 100% Cream

The following mutations are hereditary, and can appear in any breeding.

── Albino - .5% chance
── Melanistic - .5% chance.
── Erythrism - .3% chance
── Leucism - .2% chance
── Vitiligo - .1% chance
── Crucis - 3% chance

── Chimera - 1% chance
── Auric - .5% chance
── Polycaudal - .002% chance
── Maltese - 2% chance
── Sanguine - 0.05% chance

───── Inherited Markings ─────

Inherited markings are markings that can only appear if one of the parents has passed it to the cub.

── Common Markings

All common markings have a 75% chance of passing to offspring when at least one parent carries the gene, and a 95% chance of passing to offspring when both parents carry the gene.

── Uncommon Markings

All uncommon markings have a 50% chance of passing to offspring when at least one parent carries the gene, and a 75% chance of passing to offspring when both parents carry the gene.

── Rare Markings

All rare markings have a 25% chance of passing to offspring when at least one parent carries the gene, and a 50% chance of passing to offspring when both parents carry the gene.

── Epic Markings

All epic markings have a 10% chance of passing to offspring when at least one parent carries the gene, and a 20% chance of passing to offspring when both parents carry the gene.

── Legendary Markings

All legendary markings have a 5% chance of passing to offspring when at least one parent carries the gene, and a 10% chance of passing to offspring when both parents carry the gene.

───── Inbreeding ────

Inbreeding is generally regarded with disfavor, as the Caesar strongly prefers that most Nemeion bloodlines remain untainted. However, through the use of a Dreadful Drought, players may lawfully circumvent this decree in order to explore inbreeding practices. It must be understood that such actions carry significant risk, most commonly manifesting as severe congenital defects, and in extreme cases, resulting in death of the cubs. The following inbreeding effects can appear in any inbred litter. These consequences are entirely random, and can be cured with the use of Blessed Spring Water (with the exception of death, which cannot be reversed at this time).

Blindness
Blindness is a condition in which a Nemeion experiences partial or complete loss of vision, limiting or entirely removing its ability to perceive its surroundings visually. This condition is often accompanied by visibly cloudy pupils, dulled irises, or eyes that appear fully white and unresponsive to light. While a blind Nemeion may rely more heavily on heightened senses such as hearing, scent, and spatial awareness, the loss of sight permanently alters how it navigates, hunts, and interacts with the world around it.

── Defect: Nemeion who are born with Blindness have a +10% chance to fail in adventures and colosseum. Failure rate can not be reduced below 10% via any bonuses.
Deafness
Deafness is a condition in which a Nemeion experiences partial or complete loss of its ability to hear, reducing or entirely eliminating its perception of sound. This impairment may affect one or both ears and can range from muffled, distorted hearing to total silence. As a result, a deaf Nemeion relies more heavily on visual cues, vibrations, and scent to interpret its environment, which permanently alters how it communicates, reacts to danger, and interacts with others.

── Defect: Nemeion who are born with Deafness have a 10% chance to fail in conquests.
Frail
Frail is a condition in which a Nemeion possesses significantly reduced physical strength and resilience, often caused by low muscle development, fragile or malformed bones, or poor overall physical conditioning. While the lion remains fully conscious, aware, and capable of movement, its body struggles to withstand prolonged exertion, combat, or environmental stress. As a result, a frail Nemeion tires quickly, recovers slowly, and is more vulnerable to injury than others of its kind.

── Defect: Nemeion who are born Frail are unable to participate in Colosseum or Rank 2 Activities
Infertile
Infertility is a condition in which a Nemeion is completely sterile and unable to produce offspring under any circumstances. This sterility is usually permanent, meaning no natural breeding, magical intervention, or external aid can result in progeny. While the Nemeion may otherwise live a normal life, this condition permanently removes the ability to pass on lineage or bloodline traits.

── Defect: Nemeion who are born Infertile cannot breed, but can still participate in training.
Deceased
This cat has been deceased and cannot be revived.
